Already in the 18th century, emperors and kings traveled here to admire the forces of nature. Experience yourself the spectacular (1) Imatrankoski rapids shows, where the roar and rush of water fills the space.

Walk around the historical (2) Kruununpuisto park, search for giant's kettles carved by the ice age, or find peace at the beautiful (3) town brook. If you need movement, (4) Vuoksi Circuit offers Finland's most beautiful landscapes for both joggers and drivers. Or if you want to see Imatra from a bird's eye view, climb 305 stairs to (5) Mellonmäki's peak to glimpse stunning views all the way to neighboring country.

(12) Imatran Valtionhotelli: the majestic Art Nouveau castle "Valtsu" invites you to sleep in history's embrace. Do you dare to encounter the castle's famous ghost Grey Lady?

Imatra is a paradise surrounded by water. Relax at (14) Imatran Kylpylä Spa's pool world, whose atmosphere we often hear good feedback about from customers. Jump to the river Vuoksi (15) from Saunalautta Imatra (a sauna ferry), enjoy Vuoksi floating in the soothing embrace of flowing water in a dry suit. Experience the finest beaches of nearby islands and jump into Saimaa from (16) Saunalaiva Emma's (sauna boat) steam or go on a cruise with M/S Christina.

VirQ girls' favorite pastries are made at (24) Wan's home bakery, where you'll find especially good handmade rice, potato and carrot Karelian pastys. Or how about pastries with a little twist? Head to the harbor to (25) Rimpsu-Reeta's Ankkuri, where the world's best meat pastries and specialties made from local ingredients, Rimpsut, smell delicious. Enjoy Saimaa's nature and good food at Imatra's marina!

INDUSTRIAL GIANTS AND QUALITY OF LIFE

If you're interested in seeing a world-class factory, turn your gaze to (31) Stora Enso's Imatra mills. It's one of the world's largest consumer board mills. When evening falls, the glimmering glow of lights is a jewel-like sight when viewed from Patotie. From the view you can try to grasp the production facility's enormous scale!

Imatra also has real men and women of steel. Imatra's Ovako is one of Finland's most significant steel companies. The factory has been an important part of Imatra's industrial landscape for decades and is one of the significant employers in the area.
